Rebecca J:son-Toft is the youngest of two daughters born to Swedish immigrants. Born in Windsor, England, her family soon relocated to Connecticut where she would spend her time between both countries.
Rebecca first dipped her toe into hospitality at Artisan Southport, as head hostess and later a mixologist. It was at this location that she recognized and realized her passion and partnership with the hospitality industry and her love of Artisan’s culture and diverse cuisine. The Swedish fireplace, art, and design of Artisan made her feel that a little piece of home was always with her.
Rebecca attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, studying Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies, while bartending throughout her college career. It was at the end of her studies that she happened upon the construction of the newest Delamar Hotel in West Hartford, of which she fondly remembered as the beginning of her life in hospitality. Rebecca would describe it as “divine intervention”. At this juncture, she knew she wanted to continue with her career in hospitality and felt that she could once again be at home with the newest Artisan.
In 2017, Rebecca returned to the Artisan family and was a key part of the opening team in West Hartford. She quickly rose up to become Bar Manager. She loves to see guests enjoy her creations she meticulously crafts for the cocktail program for Artisan.
Always having had a passion for wine and beverage alike, she oversees Artisan’s wine program is currently working towards becoming a master sommelier with the help of her Artisan family.
Rebecca is so happy to be a part of the Delamar family, feeling thankful for all of their support, and is excited to see what lies ahead.
