With over 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Olivier Bermond has mastered his craft. Born and raised in Marseille, France his father is one of the top pastry chefs in the world and the demand for perfection was definitely passed down. Olivier attended a business school for hospitality in France, where the training was rigorous and the standards high. While in school, he trained in a Michelin starred restaurant. Olivier graduated in first place from the school, then competed regionally, taking first place again. He finished fourth place at the Final French Championship Hotellerie Restauration in 2000.
Olivier went on to work at some of the best restaurants in the world, including The Jules Verne in Paris, L’oustau de Baumaniere St Remy de Provence and La Palme d’or Hotel le Martinez in Cannes, all two star Michelin restaurants.
Love brought him to Fairfield CT where he met his wife and they currently reside with their daughter. Olivier joined Artisan Southport in 2011 and was instrumental in managing the restaurant and curating a sophisticated wine list. He is excited to be in West Hartford and loves the challenge of learning about new customers and their palates.
